Those Near & Dear

I won't go too much into detail about my family, but I will give you a rough sketch.

My family is composed of one of each:

Mom
She's like the Chinese version of Mrs. Potts from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Dad
Oy.  You might come across a few entries about this character

Older Sister
You can say that she's probably more near than dear to me.  Nicknamed "The Pit bull" at her place of work,  I think her coworkers are on the kind side.

You may not be able to pick your family, but you can certainly pick your friends.  Although it is against my culture to feel that my friends are more important to me than my family, but ... too bad.

One thing that you need to know is that I am a pretty social person, but I don't have many friends.  I know many people and I am on friendly terms with many, but I only have a few people that I consider to be my true friends.  In the following, I assigned nicknames and provided a small description of those few people.

My Favorite (He's my Biggest Teddy Bear)
He is my absolute favorite person in the entire world, hence ... the creative nickname.  He is incredibly loving and caring, and I would not be able to function on any level if it wasn't for him.  He has become an integral part of me, and I can't imagine being happy in this world without him. He explained to me the difference between contemporary use and Plato's true intent on the term "platonic love", and I can say with all my heart that our relationship is composed of the purest form of the latter.

Jungle Fevered (aka THE Princess)
She is (without a doubt in my mind) my best girlfriend.  She makes me laugh until I cry, and she literally drives the clouds away.  Even when I haven't heard or seen her for months, we are always able to pick up our friendship where we had left off.  Although there will be longer breaks and pauses in our relationship in the future, she will always have a special place in my heart.  We endured our first failed crushes together, our first disastrous relationship together, in addition to our first year in college together.
Oh, and the nickname ... well ... as one of her girlfriends told her, " You are the blackest white girl I have ever met."  Well, that and the fact that she finds black men more attractive than any other race.

Chakapoop (The doggy's name is Pochacco ... you can figure the rest out yourself)
She is just my girl.  On the flighty side, she is usually on the go.  Most people refer to her status as MIA.  But when you do see her, she is always caring and ready to give you a hug and smile.
